Women of the Church

We were delighted to begin the New Year by gathering for our traditional after-Christmas White Elephant luncheon at Barb Patterson's. Nineteen of us gathered for fellowship, food, laughter, and a lovely reading from A Valley of Vision.

The Women's Circle continues in its study of Isaiah the first Monday of each month and the Women's Bible Study is working through David, the Anointed.  We are finding the Old Testament rich in lessons for us today.  In March we will begin a study of Psalms by Kathleen Nielson.

Our church has celebrated Sanctity of Life month by gathering to place 3300 flags in our front yard to memorialize the babies who lose their lives each day in America.

In February we will go to our local a pregnancy center for a tour to see the new ultrasound machine and to get an update on all its ministries in the community..

We also hope to have a class this winter for the church at large to refresh our CPR skills and to learn to use the defibrillator bought in memory of Marvin Burts.

In March the women will take a caravan to Flat Rock to familiarize our new members with the community and to visit the gift shop so we can decide what we should make to sell there.

We are busy planning for our October conference for the Second Presbytery meeting at our church.

On May 19th we will gather as a church family in Keowee Key for our annual lake party - lots of good food, horseshoes, etc and Bible song singing.
